Our Mission
The mission of the Wagner Middle School is to provide a safe, nurturing, and academically stimulating learning environment where students are encouraged to be ambassadors of peace, justice and joy in pursuit of academic excellence. Standard-based instructional practices will equip students to lead, develop critical thinking skills, and be accountable for their decisions as lifelong learners. We will produce students that will gain and utilize strategies to cope with obstacles that may impact their daily lives as they become productive citizens in our evolving global economy.
Wagner History…
Wagner Middle School was named after a man who served his country during the Civil War. He organized and trained 14,000 African American soldiers for frontline battle action. Not only was he an outstanding leader in the military, he also was an educator. He served as a member of the Board of Education. Louis Wagner was a compassionate man who took an active interest in the education of fatherless boys. We salute General Louis Wagner.
